Mishka

I just wanted to tell you about my cat, Mishka. I found him on Petfinder two months before my return to Seattle from Baltimore, back in 2005. I knew I shouldn’t be searching for a cat yet, but I did, and then I saw Toby. A large, long haired, grumpy faced orange cat, exactly what I had imagined my next cat to be. I figured there was little chance of it working out in my favor, but I contacted Oasis anyway. Jean, his foster mom, told me that he had been found near starving, with his coat horrendously matted. In her first email, she said that he was very shy and had probably had a hard life. I explained to Jean that I would not be around for another two months, and she very kindly offered to keep him for that long, to slowly work out his mats so that he wouldn’t have to be shaved. I’m am eternally grateful to her for keeping him, because that cat has turned out to be the best cat in the world!

Nibbler (Gina)

It has been almost 3 full years since Gina, who is now named Nibbler, entered our home and both of us couldn't be happier with her. She's a sweetheart, is so playful and just an all around great friend and companion. My partner and I moved back to Boston a year and a half ago due to a work transfer and Nibbler has made the adjustment like it was no problem at all - although I think she dislikes the humidity and summer heat and winter cold as much as we do!

Newman

From Newman's mom:

Dear Oasis,

I was amazed at how fast he and Bailey took to each other.  Newman started rubbing his face against the carrier and purring the moment he saw Bailey, and as soon as I let him out he walked right up to Bailey and touched noses.  By the next day, they were already starting to play together.  I love watching Bailey wash him, it's just the cutest thing! He cuddles with me every night now, and I just adore him.  Thank you again for rescuing him and bringing him to me!

Sampson

Dear Oasis,

Sampson is really affectionate with both of us and has loves to explore, and to eat! He’s a bit on the fluffier side now and we’re working on reducing his weight through a diet. He’s not happy about the diet, so we’ve taken to calling him Grumpkin. He sleeps with us every night and is an adorable cutie. Sammy is an incredible cat and we’re so lucky to own him. Thank you for introducing us to him!
